Lung cancer survival rate or cancer in general has been a major concern all over the world. A lot of people may have been diagnosed and just die in a matter of days or weeks. It usually shows its sign on a later stage and often the patient actually catch that he or she has cancer on this later stage. Stage 4 cancer is grave because it implies metastasis. Metastasis or the transfer of cancer cells from one area or organ to another. This causes general damage and a difficult treatment regimen.

Types and area of cancer that affect lung cancer survival rate

Types of cancer does matter. Some cancer just affects the lining of the lungs called epithelial, and sometimes the bronchus or airway and sometimes the inner linings. The lung cancers that affect the lining or the biggest area of the lungs will give more problems. The smaller size the better the prognosis. A treatment like cutting the portion of the lungs to remove cancer cells can still be done and this can promote better outcomes.

Other factors like general health and age, etc. are the factors that are easily neglected. They may play a big part in the survival rate. Remember that almost 40% of the ones diagnosed are already in their 4^th stage. This yields lesser survival rate. But still, survival rates are just guesses and percentages.
