Stage 4 lung cancer is the 4th and last stage of lung cancer. Of course, there are 4 stages that contribute to the whole lung cancer process. Initially, a patient obtains stage 1 lung cancer when he or she has developed a cancerous cell. By this time, the cancer cell is so small to be noticed and small to cause symptoms. It’s unfortunately difficult to diagnose stage 1 lung cancer, and to make things worse, one has a better survival rate of 80 to 90 percent. This goes horribly low at a 50-50 state on stage 2 lung cancer, and of course it goes down the higher the level. With stage 4 having as low as 2 percent!
You can say that you are dying when you get to have stage-4 lung cancer. It’s a sad fact, but one that people should be wary of. Lung cancer continuous to be one of the killing types of cancer. This is because it affects breathing, which is of course very crucial for survival. Also the symptoms arise at this stage.
The symptoms usually vary when it comes to the type of lung cancer. However, when it comes to stage 4 you don’t get to see much of the difference in the symptoms, they are usually of the highest caliber and standard, that it causes disability and debilitation.
Some of the symptoms you feel are difficulty of breathing with or without exertion, lack of breath, dyspnea, chest pain (severe at that), consistent cough, sputum production, hoarseness of voice and other major lung symptoms. You can easily tell that it is stage 4 lung cancer when other signs of cancer manifest aside from the usually lung cancer. This include stomach ache, weight loss without cause, fatigue, bone pain and many more. Systemic symptoms occur due to metastasis or the condition of cancer spreading throughout the body. Now this is not only affecting the lungs but also other area. But technically, even just lung cancer symptoms can put you down already.
Stage 4 lung cancer is indeed a very critical stage. It’s time to be wary about risks of cancer and as well as symptoms to avoid this stage. Then again, there’s no telling.
